Well, I think it's about time for an update! It's always encouraging to have people tell you to update your blog! At least we know that we're not writing to our computer...people actually read about our lives! So, it's been 2 weeks since I've last updated because Olivia is now 3 weeks old...almost 4. Wow! Life has been a little...busy! All of our parents were here for the birth, then Michelle (bj's mom) stayed an extra week and a half to help out. Then when she left, BJ and I were ready to take on parenthood! Of course, when you think you're all ready, there always something to bring you back to reality. The day BJ's mom left, we had a doctor's appointment and found out Olivia was down 4 ounces from birth. Our doctor informed us that it was really important for her to be gaining by this point. I of course was really scared and almost felt like a bad mother...because I'm the one who feeds her. I had to realize that this is new for both me and Olivia. So for the past week, I've been feeding this little girl non-stop! It was actually a really hard adjustment because I figured I was feeding/pumping for supplements 16 hours a day! Can you see now why I haven't posted in a while??!?!
I'm finally adjusted and BJ and I feel like we have a pretty good idea of what being parents is like! When I asked him on a scale from 1 to 10 (1=so easy, 10=super hard)...how easy is being a parent? He answered 4. I actually would have to agree now too! Olivia is such a good baby! She sleeps, eats ( a lot), and plays. Oh, and did I mention smile?! Yes, she smiles, a lot!
Life has definitely changed, but I would not want it any other way! BJ just has a couple of days left of school and work! Then he will get to join Olivia and me in our days o' fun at home during the day! Our summer will officially start in one week! We are really excited to get to spend the extra time together as a family. Really quick before I post pictures (since that is what everyone really wants to see), we are celebrating my very first Mother's Day in Madison, WI this Sunday! I'm so excited. I will post an update then!

We started doing tummy time because her cord fell off! She actually really loves it! I swear she even started trying to crawl!
I just couldn't resist this outfit! She doesn't fit in hardly any newborn clothes, so Lael and I went and bought her a preemie! She looks so cute!!!
Last but not least, Olivia's boyfriend! Actually, I don't know...he is quite the man at church...so it's a tough competition! We are in the same house group as his parents! It's hard to believe he is 4 months old. He used to look so tiny to me!!
Our next "test" was last weekend to Green Bay, WI-two and a half hours. BJ and Bert ran the half marathon!! They did such a great job!! We also spent time hanging out with Bert and Lyndsey, and Olivia got to meet her first real aunt and uncle! Might I also add that she slept the entire way to Green Bay and back! Her sleeping schedule was a little messed up, but that might have been because she was so excited to sleep in her first hotel...The A LOFT!! Here are some pictures from the weekend: 
So, I say that we have been testing her! Her big test will be to drive 12 hours to Arkansas next week. We will be splitting up the drive six and six, stopping for the night in St. Louis to visit Becky and Chris! I am thinking that she is going to be a little angel, like she always is! I think our biggest worry is going to be packing the car for a whole summer! Stay tuned!!
